theatre in the woods: King Arthur and Hitch

Every year in August, Europes’ biggest video screen comes to Apeldoorn. In them middle of the famous Woods of Apeldoorn you can watch some old and some new movies. This year we (my sister, some friends and I ) bought tickets for three movies: King Arthur, Hitch and Kingdom of Heaven (Thursday). It seems to be always bad weather, and we are all used to pack lots of clothes. Our winterjackets are back on duty, and so are some sweaters and umbrellas. Last Friday it was time for King Arthur. In the beginning it was a bit grey, and so was the surrounding ,so that was a bit sad, but when we were looking up we saw beautiful stars and lots of planes. Slowly on, the story started roling and I was enjoying the voice of Arthur and the friendship with Lancelot…. I was praying he would not die, but one of the first sentences kind of gave the end away…he wanted his ashes spread around in a strong east wind (it was east, wasn’t it?), I was still hoping he would run away with Guinevere, but there was no way out…he dies. And when we talk about Guinevere…when did she started to look like an Amazon? I thought she was more someone like rose in the Titanic. But it was really refreshing. The end was a bit a disappointing (besides the death of Lancelot)….but still a eight as score!
Sunday the second movie. We were hoping for better weather. The day started really nice. But when time was passing by, the weather got worse and when we were walking to the screen in the bush bush we needed for the first time our umbrella’s. The guy who opened this movie-evening had bad news, it would be raining all evening. And he was right! While we were watching Hitch we were busy with getting in our raincoats and getting partly out of it to eat some cheese, tomato, sausages etc and drink our wines/ beer…. But Will Smith en Eva Mendes were a nice couple and the movie was really funny. This movie gets an straight seven!

Till now King Arthur has some points more then Hitch, but Thursday we will go to a third movie: Kingdom of Heaven, so maybe the end result will be different.
